WILLKAPUNKU: Ollantaytambo, Inti Punku

Possibly one of the most challenging hikes we have for you. The adventure begins very early as we travel to the village of Ollantaytambo, the starting point of our hike. After a brief warm-up to activate our bodies, we start with a gradual ascent from the famous Inca bridge to the Qachikata quarries, well-known for the large number of carved and uncarved stones left by our ancestors. From this point, the ascent becomes a bit more demanding until we reach the incredible gateway known as Inti Punku, an ancient shrine to the snow-capped Waqay Willka, better known as Verónica, which we will be able to appreciate in all its glory if the weather is good. We will have time to rest a bit and have a light lunch to recharge our energy before starting the return journey. On the way back down the mountain, we will encounter some chullpas, which were ancient Inca tombs, and we will arrive at the village of Qachikata at the base of the valley, which will be the final point of our excursion. Finally, we will take our transport back to the hotel.
