Itinerary:

The adventure begins with a visit to the archaeological site of the ancient Inca town of Pisaq and its main attractions, where we can appreciate its constructions and urban and religious layout. After the visit, we head to the highland community of Paru Paru, which, along with three other communities, makes up the famous “Potato Park,” known for its significant genetic diversity with over 1,300 varieties of potatoes preserved in fields and in the communal germplasm bank. These varieties have also been taken to the Global Seed Vault in Svalbard, Norway. In the community, we will participate in a local experience with one of the families or “ayllus,” who will kindly show us a glimpse of their daily lives, teach us about potato cultivation and other products, and showcase colorful textiles made from natural alpaca fiber. Here, the family will offer us a traditional lunch prepared with local ingredients, making it undoubtedly one of the best experiences. Finally, after saying goodbye to the family, we will take our transport back to the hotel.
